Sri Trang Group welcomes the prime minister and delegation to Sri Trang Narathiwas, which aims to generate 300 million Baht per month in cash flow for the area.

Sri Trang Group welcomes General Prayuth Chan-o-cha, the prime minister, and delegation to Sri Trang Narathiwas for a tour of the processing facility for block rubber, which will have a production capacity of 60,000 tons per annum or 5,000 tons per month, generating about 300 million Baht per month in cash flow for the area, and which should help stimulate industrial investment and prop up rubber prices in the area.

Mr. Veerasith Sinchareonkul, Executive Director of Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA), welcomes the prime minister and delegation and affirms STA’s commitment to contributing to the growth of Thailand’ natural rubber industry and the country’s economic growth. For the year 2015, Thailand produced 4 million tons of natural rubber, ranking number one in the world. As the world’s largest fully integrated natural rubber company and with 1,280 million Baht in registered capital, STA currently has 35 processing facilities, of which 31 are located in Thailand, 3 in Indonesia, and 1 in Myanmar, with a domestic production capacity of 2 million tons per annum, representing 50% of Thailand’s production capacity, and a total production capacity of 2.4 million tons per annum, representing 20% of global consumption, generating more than 60,000 million Baht per year in revenue for the country, representing 35% of Thailand’s export value for rubber.

“With nearly 30 years of experience, STA is committed to operating with integrity, fairness, transparency and meticulous attention to every production process, with environmentally friendly practices and an emphasis on community engagement. Heeding the government’s policy to stimulate industrial investment and spread income throughout the country, STA never ceases to expand operations into areas with a concentration of rubber plantations. Accordingly, at the start of 2015 and with 570 million Baht in investment, STA established Sri Trang Narathiwas and began construction of the processing facility, which would eventually generate about 300 million Baht per month in cash flow for the area. The project has been well-received by the government and the local communities.”

In the early stage, Sri Trang Narathiwas will focus on the production of crepe rubber and will later expand production to include block rubber. Situated on a plot of land with an area of approximately 156 rai at 88/8 Moo 5, Tambon Lubobuesa, Amphur Yi-ngo, Narathiwas, with a production capacity of 5,000 tons per month or 60,000 tons per annum, the facility required 570 million Baht in investment. The production of crepe rubber requires approximately 200 million Baht per month in cash flow and once the production of block rubber gets underway, a total of 300 million Baht per month in cash flow will be required for the purchase of raw materials and labor and production costs.

STA intends that Sri Trang Narathiwas will generate income for the local communities, leading to better living conditions and happiness.
